UPDATE: Edie is now under the care of Madeline’s Angels Pet Sanctuary, and has been adopted.
Edie, a five-year-old lab/shepherd mix who was rescued from a severely neglectful situation earlier this month, is urgently in need of a new home and at risk of going back to the shelter soon.

Her foster mom, Santa Clarita resident Vicci Zimmerman, has exhausted all her options in attempting to re-home Edie over the last few weeks, and cannot keep her much longer because she doesn’t get along with the other pets in the home.
Zimmerman released the following statement to KHTS on Friday asking for help:
Unfortunately, we have been unable to find a home for Edie. We have determined the best home for her is as an only pet. I have contacted several rescue groups, talked at the pet stores to other groups and no one can or will take her. I even offered a donation, but no go.
She is not getting the attention she deserves or needs at our house as we try to keep her away from the menagerie we already have. She is bored and lonely and we are very afraid she is going to try to get out of the yard.
I am terrified to return her to Castaic Animal Shelter. My biggest fear, beyond her being euthanized there, is that her former owner would see her and send someone there to adopt her on their behalf and she would end up back in the hell she escaped from.
We are absolutely heartsick about this but just feel like there is no other alternative at this time.
