A family is attempting to find the man responsible for a hit and run crash involving their son early Monday morning in front of Canyon High School.
At around 6:15 a.m. Rona and Lee Cowan’s 17-year old son, Sean, was driving to Canyon High School when a truck traveling eastbound swerved into his lane.
The 17 year old swerved to the left to avoid a head-on collision with the truck, resulting in the two vehicles side-sweeping each other.
The suspect’s vehicle flipped onto the curb and landed on its side. Moment’s later the suspect fled on foot from the vehicle and the scene of the accident.
“Sean ended up parked in the dirt and he called us,” said Lee Cowan, the victim’s father. “He was pretty shaken up and I called the deputies.”
Deputies arrived on scene and took down a police report to investigate the accident. First responders with the Los Angeles County Fire Department were called by deputies to the scene, according to Supervisor Melanie Flores. Nobody was transported to the hospital.
The suspect’s truck was towed from the scene and Cowan’s vehicle was totaled.
The Cowans took to Facebook, uploading pictures of the accident and the suspect’s vehicle in an attempt to have the person who fled identified.
“We want people like that off the streets,” said Lee. “It could’ve been a head on collision, he could have killed someone.”
The suspect is described as a hispanic male. The vehicle he was driving had the license plate 5C69899. Any information should be forwarded to the SCV Sheriff’s Station.

I think it’s “side swiped”.
Right you are.
The suspect is a Hispanic male, you say?
I say Dennis is a blatant racist.
