A health care team from Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital will perform ultrasounds at the 2nd Annual Maternity and Baby Show on Sunday, July 10.

Henry Mayo Newhall will provide an obstetrician and team to conduct a non-diagnostic ultrasound, using a probe placed on the body that emits sound waves into the body, listening for the return echo and generating an image, according to a news release from the hospital. The show takes place at the Hyatt Regency Conference Center in Valencia from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Ultrasounds are free and a complementary picture will be provided by the team. The ultrasound will be taken in a semi-private area.
No appointments are necessary ahead of time, ultrasounds will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital warns participants using the service to not use the non-diagnostic ultrasound over a complete diagnostic ultrasound, according to a news release. Due to differences in technology and accuracy, non-diagnostic is not as thorough as a diagnostic ultrasound.
Henry Mayo will also provide labor and delivery nurses that are available to answer questions regarding swaddling, infant care and breastfeeding.
In addition to free ultrasounds, the second annual Maternity and Baby Show will feature numerous other activities, booths and seminars.

The show is giving away numerous free prizes and mothers are encouraged to participant to win several raffle prizes. There also will be an array of vendors providing maternity and infant education, according to a new release.
