Mission Valley Bank has partnered with PayForward to offer a prepaid Visa debit card to clients of the bank in the Santa Clarita Valley.

The partnership was announced by Mission Valley Bancorp president and CEO Tamara Gurney on Tuesday.

“As a community-based bank, Mission Valley is always seeking new and innovative ways to help our clients and community reach their financial goals. Because of our shared commitment to providing added value to customer relationships, we are introducing the Mission Valley Bank PayForward prepaid Visa debit card to customers,” said Gurney.

The card will rebate users up to 15 percent cash back at over 100 participating merchants in the Santa Clarita Valley. Members will also the option to spend their cash instantly or transfer it to friends, a charitable cause, a personal savings or a bank account.

Last year, Mission Valley Bank introduced the Give Where You Live SCV initiative to support nonprofits within the community.

Gurney said that the PayForward card could allow cardholders to keep the giving going by designating local charities to receive rebate benefits.
