Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Special Assignment Team (SAT) deputies arrested a man in Newhall last week for allegedly being in possession of narcotics and a large sum of money, according to officials.
On Friday, April 19, deputies were patrolling in Newhall when they made contact with a male adult who was found to be in possession of cocaine baggies and a large amount of U.S. currency, according to Shirley Miller, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
Terry Dixon, 36, of Palmdale, was arrested on felony charges of narcotics sales, Miller said.
Dixon was transported and booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, Miller said.
SAT deputies have been patrolling the streets, targeting areas where concerns have been relayed about illegal drug activity, according to Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station officials.
The efforts of the SAT deputies continue, in addition to regular patrol units, according to officials.
Residents are being asked to notify the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station if they know of any illegal drug activity in their neighborhood. Anonymous tips can also be submitted by clicking here.
