Rescue Launched After Reports Of Two Kids Trapped In Sewer

A rescue mission was launched by first responders Saturday night after reports of two kids becoming trapped in a Santa Clarita sewer.

At around 8:30 p.m. first responders received 911 calls stating that two kids were seen and heard calling for help in a sewer system in front of Hart High School.

L.A. County Fire Department responded to the 24000 block of Newhall Avenue and stayed on scene for almost three hours, according to L.A. County Fire officials.

“It came in as a confined space call and nobody was found,” said fire officials.

The three hour search ended with nobody found in the sewage system.

  1. The next good rain will flush them out.

  2. There are huge differences between “sewer” (human waste) and “storm drains”. Usually kids go into storm drains. This article says sewer, which I do not believe is correct.

  3. Our daughter did something stupid like this too. Took a tour of a dark and damp large sewer pipe with friends. They thought it was cool. They couldn’t understand why I nearly flipped out over it. Guess mom was “overreacting”. I tried to explain to them what situation they could of put themselves into, especially if it started to rain or they got lost inside. Deer in the headlights.
