During the scoping meeting, City officials will “obtain feedback regarding the environmental areas to study in the Environmental Impact Report being prepared for the Sand Canyon Resort Project.”

The Sand Canyon Homeowners Association (SCHOA) is encouraging residents to attend the meeting and share their ideas with City officials.

“There will be additional City meetings in the coming year for your continued input,” said the SCHOA Board of Directors.

During the meeting, the following items are expected to be considered:

  •      Water
  •      Sewage/Waste
  •      Traffic
  •      Access
  •      Special Standards District
  •      Economic Analysis
  •      Zoning
  •      Staffing
  •      Identity
  •      Lights/Noise

The approximately 75-acre project site is located on the northeast corner of Sand Canyon Road and Robinson Ranch Road in the community of Canyon Country.

The project site is within the existing nine-hole golf course at the Sand Canyon Country Club and is surrounded by existing single-family residences to the north and west.

The potential upgrades at the Sand Canyon Country Club would create a new destination in the Santa Clarita Valley, make its courses more fun and, overall, improve the “wow factor,” said Owner Steve Kim.

  1. Now let’s see: If we are adding over 500 parking places that leaves the potential to add at least 500 more cars on Sand Canyon Road. Is that bad or can Sand Canyon have even more cars than that and still not feel like there is an increase it traffic? Maybe we will get a traffic survey from some corrupt company that will say it’s no problem….

  2. How about a realistic Status update on the Sand Canyon Plaza project (at the corner of Sand Canyon and Soledad) ?
Many people I know are very interested
