This year’s event featured “All Things Pirate,” and encouraged attendees to come eat, play and win while dressed as a pirate.

“This is an outstanding opportunity for the community to come together and support a great cause,” said Mark McCorkle, Bunco committee chair, in a previous story. “Bunco is a fun game anyone can play with no experience. Bottom line, we’re helping some terrific athletes.”

Special Olympics officials are hoping the event will raise $5,000 to help pay for uniforms, transportation and practice facilities for the local athletes.

The Special Olympics also works alongside the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station in the “Tip-A-Cop” program, where deputies go to restaurants and help servers serve food to get tips that go directly to the Special Olympics.
