The Board of Directors for the Santa Clarita Valley Sanitation District is holding a special meeting Wednesday, March 11 to discuss changing the proposed location for the deep well injection site.
Due to strong objections from residents, the board will consider withdrawing the current proposed location for the deep-well injection element of its chloride-compliance project and evaluate other locations, according to the Sanitation District’s agenda.
That same feedback is what prompted the City Council to agendized the item, and two City Council members –Mayor Marsha McLean and Laurene Weste — are on the three-person Sanitation District governing board.
The council may also be considering requesting an extension to the comment period for the Draft EIR, according to the City Council’s agenda.
