After a week of triple-digit temperatures, the Santa Clarita weather forecast has moved into wetter weather, with light showers and a chance of thunderstorms for the day ahead.
Officials with the National Weather Service advised Monday that there is a 15 to 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms this week. Despite the humidity, officials cautioned that these conditions raise the risk of brush fires.
“There’s less monsoon moisture today than yesterday,” said Bonnie Barling, a weather specialist with the NWS. “If lightning strikes, that can cause a fire.”
However, Bartling stated that no official weather warning had been released for Los Angeles County, as only light precipitation was being observed in the area.
Thursday’s temperatures are expected to be in the low triple digits, dipping back down into the mid-90s through the weekend and into next week.
