Three COC Golfers Commit To Continue Careers At Four-Year Universities

Three College of the Canyons golfers – two from the men’s program and one from the women’s team – have committed to four-year universities to continue both their academic and athletic careers.

On the women’s side, standout COC golfer Sahya Kitabatake signed with California State University, Bakersfield.

Kitabatake is coming off an impressive season that included a runner-up finish at the 2025 state championship and a victory at the 2025 3C2A Southern California Regional Championship. During her freshman season, she also captured the individual 3C2A State Championship title.

Her performance earned back-to-back All-State Team selections and consecutive Western State Conference (WSC) Player of the Year honors.

On the men’s side, both Anthony Nilson and Arnaud Bouhaniche will continue their careers at NCAA Division I programs.

Nilson signed with California State University, East Bay after helping lead the Cougars to back-to-back 3C2A state championships in 2025 and 2026.

As a sophomore, Nilson won the individual 3C2A State Championship, becoming just the fifth player in program history to earn the honor.

Earlier in the season, Nilson was also named the individual Western State Conference champion and earned All-WSC recognition after leading the conference with 720 strokes across 10 tournaments. He was a tournament medalist three times, including at the WSC Finals, helping Canyons secure its 15th consecutive conference title.

Bouhaniche signed with San Jose State University following a strong freshman campaign. The native of Cannes, France, earned All-WSC honors in 2026 after finishing sixth in the season-long individual standings.

Bouhaniche was also selected to the 3C2A All-State Team after placing sixth individually at the State Championship tournament.

Both Nilson and Bouhaniche played key roles in helping College of the Canyons capture its third consecutive 3C2A state championship in 2026 and the program’s 13th overall title.
