Deputies arrested a transient parolee for possession of a concealed weapon and violating the terms of his parole on Thursday, officials said.
Around 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 26, deputies were patrolling through a parking lot on the 26500 block of Golden Valley Road, Canyon Country, when they noticed a local man they were familiar with said Shirley Miller, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s station.
“They recognized a male adult walking on the sidewalk as being an individual who had an extensive criminal record, and who was known to be on felony probation,” said Miller.
Deputies made contact with the male adult and found that he was in possession of a concealed weapon, a knife, which was in violation of his probation terms and conditions, according to Miller.
The man had previously been arrested on felony assault with a deadly weapon charges in March, when he allegedly fled from first responders and threatened a person with a knife in Saugus.

Justin Crawford, 35, a transient, was arrested on felony charges of possession of a concealed dirk/dagger and probation violation, according to Miller.
Crawford was transported and booked at Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, being held on $30,000 bail, according to arrest records.
