Two Arrested On Multiple Felonies After Santa Clarita Traffic Stop

Two felony suspects, including one wanted man, were arrested in Santa Clarita Friday after a routine traffic stop.

Around 7:30 a.m. Friday, deputies patrolling the Old Road near Hasley Canyon Road in Castaic conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with several vehicle code violations, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“During (the) traffic stop, deputies contacted the occupants of the vehicle and learned the male adult driver did not have a valid driver’s license,” Arriaga said. “During investigation, deputies learned the male had several outstanding warrants.”

Upon contacting the passenger, a woman, deputies found her to be in possession of narcotics, pepper spray and checks not belonging to her within her property, Arriaga said.

“During a further search of the vehicle, deputies noticed tools were left inserted in the ignition, the passenger door’s handle lock had been damaged and a license plate to the vehicle did not relate information identifiable to the vehicle,” Arriaga said.

The male adult driver was also unable to provide proof of registration for the vehicle.

Shawn Hill, 25, from Bakersfield, was arrested on felony grand theft auto, according to Arriaga.

Marissa Barrett, 26, from Arvin, was arrested for identity theft, forgery, possession of tear gas by a narcotic addict, all felonies, and possession of prescription pills without prescription and possession of narcotic paraphernalia, misdemeanors, Arriaga added.

Both suspects were arrested and transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station jail with Barrett’s bail set at $115,250 and Hill’s bail set at $0, according to arrest records.

  1. Glad SHAWN HILL & MARRISA BARRETT were caught! After multiple Warrants, these scumbags from the lovely Bakersfield area still haven’t learned their lessons! Hopefully demonic Liberals & Gas-Con won’t let them out within hours with all the new felonies, but now with 63,000 more felons let out of prison early, they’ll have more of their ilk to commit more crimes! God help CA being Chronically degenerated by Liberals!

    • “demonic liberals”? Ooookkkk. Because I would like Social Security payments to the elderly to be raised, everyone to be fed, money to go to schools and potholes to be fixed.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
