21-Year-Old Man Identified In Fatal Canyon Country Crash

The 21-year-old man who died after the vehicle he was driving reportedly collided into a concrete sign in Canyon Country has been identified by coroner officials.

Christian Zambrano was pronounced dead at Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital after the single-vehicle collision occurred around 1 a.m. Thursday morning on Soledad Canyon Road and Valley Center Drive near the Greenbriar Mobile Estates mobile home park, said Lt. David Smith with the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.

Investigators are still working to determine where Zambrano was from, said Smith.

Units with the Los Angeles County Fire Department were dispatched to the scene at 1:09 a.m., and spent approximately 30 minutes extracting Zambrano from the vehicle, said Fire Inspector Joey Marron.

The victim, who was the only occupant in the vehicle, suffered blunt force trauma during the collision and was taken to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries, said Lt. Rob Hahnlein of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

  3. I played High School Football with Zambrano. Kind and gentle spirit. Will always be remembered with a smile. Heartbroken.
