The Castaic Animal Care Center is urging the community to consider adoption, especially for dogs like Brownie, a gentle and affectionate Siberian Husky who is waiting for a second chance.
Brownie (ID #A5545188) is a 5-year-old, 68-pound Siberian Husky with a rich brown coat and striking blue eyes.
He was recently surrendered through no fault of his own after his owner developed allergies, leaving Brownie in need of a new forever home.
Shelter staff describe Brownie as well-mannered and easy to handle. He walks well on a leash, knows basic commands, and enjoys spending time sniffing and exploring the yard.
Brownie has also shown positive behavior around calm, large dogs, making him a great candidate for the right multi-dog household.
With the shelter currently at capacity, staff say dogs like Brownie are counting on the community to step up and make room by adopting, fostering, or sharing adoption stories.
Those interested in meeting Brownie or learning more about adoption can visit the Castaic Animal Care Center, located at 31044 N. Charlie Canyon Rd. in Castaic. The shelter is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is closed on Sundays.
