Disney announced Thursday plans to start reopening Disneyland and California Adventure as well as hotels in July with restrictions in place in efforts to protect guests from the coronavirus, officials said.

Starting on July 9, Disney is set to start by opening up the Downtown Disney District.
On July 17, on the 65th anniversary of when Disneyland originally opened, the main theme park as well as California Adventure is expected to reopen, according to a statement from Disney’s website.
However, when the two theme parks do reopen, multiple restrictions are set to be put in place to protect park-goers, according to the entertainment company.
When the two parks do reopen, capacity limits are set to be significantly limited to comply with governmental requirements and promote physical distancing, the Disneyland Resort is expected to manage attendance through a new theme park reservation system that will require all guests, including Annual Passholders, to obtain a reservation for park entry in advance, reads a statement from Disney.
Theme park reservations will be subject to availability.
Other restrictions are expected to be implemented are nighttime parades and shows are not expected to be shown for an unknown duration to prevent large crowds from gathering.
Disney characters are also not expected to be making contact with visitors, however, they are expected to be in the park to entertain guests, according to officials.
Lastly, Disney does expect to reopen their hotels by July 23.
