The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station is set to host the 35th annual All-Schools Dance at the “thrill capital of the world,” Six Flags Magic Mountain, this week, officials said Monday.
All Santa Clarita Valley students are invited for a night of fun on Friday, March 8, where they will be able to enjoy rides in a selected area of the park, all while being supervised by deputies from the Sheriff’s Station.
The park is scheduled to be closed to the general public, with select attractions open for students to ride, including Twisted Colossus and Scream, according to Sheriff’s officials.
The event, which is open to 8th grade through 12th grade students, will also feature a DJ with dance music and a light show.
In order to ensure a safe night for Santa Clarita Valley students, all attendees must show their student ID to enter, according to event organizers.
“Homeschoolers are welcome; they just need to bring a letter of proof that they are a Santa Clarita student,” said Shirley Miller, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
The event is scheduled to be held on Friday, March 8 from 7:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. Tickets will be sold at the door for $10 cash. Food will also be available onsite for an additional cost, according to officials.
“We ask that parents drop off and pick up their children next to the park’s entrance by Twisted Colossus,” said Miller.
The dance is sponsored by Six Flags Magic Mountain, the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station and the SCV Sheriff’s Foundation.
