Valencia High School’s band and color guard swept a few awards this past weekend with their new program.
Valencia High School’s marching band and color guard secured first place this past weekend in the Southern California School Band and Orchestra Association (SCSBOA) Division 2A Championship Prelims in Walnut, CA.
The band’s performance earned them several awards – high music, high general effect, high auxiliary, and high music, which placed them in first.
This recognition came after their performance the previous weekend, which awarded them the Tournament Sweepstakes Award at the Oxnard competition.
These awards under the marching band’s belt showcase the hard work and dedication of its members and the supporting staff.
In their recent program, “Lunar Embrace,” the four-part musical and visual interpretation of the poem about the eternal relationship between the Sea and the Moon has proven them to be the best at what they do with all their success.
The band is scheduled to perform their award-winning performance this Saturday, Nov. 23 at West Covina High School in West Covina.
