The Copco Fire in Gorman has reached at least five acres Wednesday, with forward progress of the fire stopped, according to officials.

UPDATE 12:45 p.m.: Forward progress on the brush fire has been stopped at 5-6 acres.
Los Angeles County firefighters were called out to the fire after it started around noon near the 5 Freeway and Highway 138.
The fire was named after Copco Avenue where the blaze was initiated, which parallels the I-5 near Highway 138 in Gorman.
The brush fire was initially reported to be a quarter acre, but quickly grew to five acres in medium to heavy brush.
