LA North Studios, which provides soundstages and other production services to major film studios, is set to open a soundstage hub at Needham Ranch in Santa Clarita in early 2021.

Trammell Crow Company and Clarion Partners, LLC announced the new facility last Wednesday, which is set to open when LA North finishes converting the building it has leased into a satellite soundstage hub for use in various film, television and digital productions.

“As we have grown and scaled our business, LA North Studios has quickly become a preferred production facility in the region,” said LA North Co-Founders Anthony Syracuse and John Prabhu in a statement. “All of our sound stages are fully committed, and this expansion allows us to meet our clients’ needs today and into the future.”

The company provides major studios, including Disney, Warner Bros., Universal, Netflix, Amazon Studios and Showtime with production services.

LA North has signed a five-year lease for 113,640 square feet of space at Building 5 at The Center in Needham Ranch to be converted into its new soundstage. The soundstage is set to be the company’s third production space in Santa Clarita.

“For entertainment uses, the Santa Clarita Valley continues to experience significant growth in the amount of local production facilities that operate here,” said John Balestra, principal with TCC’s SoCal – Los Angeles Business Unit. “This area is a competitive, and often more attractive, alternative to Los Angeles.”

LA North Studios now has more than 277,000 square feet of production space in the Santa Clarita Valley. This includes a main campus with five soundstages and on-site production space totaling 143,000 square feet.
