“If you’re looking for wood, there’s two options,” he said. “You can go with distressed flooring, which is where they scrape up the floor before you even buy it… That way it’s weathered in a pretty-looking way, so it actually helps mask whatever your dog does to it.”

“We (also) have Cali Bamboo, which is this really really hard floor,” Boyd continued. “It’s basically an extremely durable, hard floor that’s wood.”

Choosing from pet-friendly flooring options is important in helping pet owners save money in the future by helping prevent damage from occurring.

“Because it’s a big purchase,” Boyd concluded, “you want it to last.”
