The Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce (SCV Chamber) is reminding members that California is at risk of losing two Congressional seats and millions of dollars in federal funding in infrastructure, housing, education and health programs if there isn’t an accurate count on this year’s U.S. Census.
The final date for self-response and field operations was moved from Oct. 31 to Sept. 30. We cannot let this result in an undercount in our communities.
Be counted today. Visit www.my2020census.gov to complete your census form in 10 minutes or less.
- The census helps fund medical services that we need now more than ever to combat coronavirus. These include hospitals and emergency services.
- Census results impact funding for federal rental assistance and affordable housing programs that many LA County residents rely on to put a roof over their family's heads.
- Census data provides the resources your children’s schools rely on.
- An accurate census count can lead to better roads and more public transportation.
- The census decides how much political representation your community will have. Being counted ensures you have a voice in our government.
Fill out your form online at www.my2020census.gov or by phone at 1-844-330-2020. It will only take 10 minutes to answer simple questions like your age and how many children you have.
Deadline to apply is Sept. 30.
