Barbara Cochran and Dr. Gene Dorio sat down with special guest George Brown from Ulrich Lifestyle Structures on the Senior Hour to discuss how Ulrich Barns caters to seniors.

Brown explains Ulrich Lifestyle Structures constructs all things related to outside structures from backyard gymnasiums to man caves, workshops and so many other structures they produce as well.

Ulrich Lifestyle Structures also create what Dr. Dorio calls, “Granny Houses”, structures that people often convert to living spaces for the elderly to stay in temporarily.

Ulrich Lifestyles helps their clients find the perfect outdoor living structure to fit their needs, and though Ulrich can not do any final installations like plumbing, they can help clients find the right construction company to install all those things in their home.

This gives the client the freedom to choose different options for construction in their outdoor living structure.

In regards to the structures being used for the elderly, Brown says depending on the size of the structure, depends on whether or not they need a permit to have a senior living in the structure.

Barbara recalls a family friend who lives in an outdoor living structure on his parent’s property because he is incapacitated, and the structure has been a life saver, making life so much easier for him and his family.

Brown explains that having the structure is 80% of the whole process, and the other 20% is about getting the right permits and correctly completing the interior design.

The structures were built in the factory and can also be built on-site. However, these structures will not have drywall because drywall in it of itself will disintegrate, because of the property of itself.
