The 2024 SCV Man of the Year and 2024 SCV Woman of the Year are now accepting nominations.

The Santa Clarita Valley Man and Woman of the Year Award is given annually to recognize and reward individuals who have made exceptional voluntary contributions to the Santa Clarita Valley community.

The 2024 Santa Clarita Valley Man and Woman of the Year dinner, which is an annual premier volunteer recognition event, is set to take place at the Hyatt Valencia on Friday, May 3 at 6 p.m., as revealed by the 2023 Santa Clarita Valley Man and Woman of the Year, Don Kimball and Jenny Ketchepaw.

From among the nominated candidates, the SCV Man and Woman of the Year Committee—which consists of past honorees—is said to choose the Man and Woman of the Year.

A 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization may nominate a maximum of two volunteers, one male and one female.

The Committee’s weighted criteria are as follows:

-Sweat equity (volunteer effort): 40 points

-Service years: 20 points

-Importance and dedication to the nominating body: 20 points

-The total number of 501(c)(3) organizations this person has worked with (20 points).

Being nominated by more than one group does not earn a nominee extra points.

On Wednesday, March 6, there is set to be a paparazzi party to honor and recognize the nominees and their organizations.

The executive directors of the nominating organizations as well as the nominees and their significant others are all invited.

The deadline for nominations is Jan. 31 at 5:00 p.m. and every nomination sent in by then is said to be recognized.
