Brave New World Comics To Host Two Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Events In December

Brave New World Comics in Newhall is set to host two separate events revolving around the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in December, giving residents the opportunity to meet and get autographs from some of the artists who work on the comic book characters.

In the month of December, Brave New World Comics is set to host two comic book signing events in December involving the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, according to Andy Liegl, who owns the Newhall-based comic shop.

The first scheduled event is a signing for issue No. 1 of “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” which marks the first time that the Power Rangers and Ninja Turtles franchises have crossed over, according to officials.

The event, scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 7, is set to feature both writer Ryan Parrott and artist Sina Grace, who are set to sign copies of a store-exclusive variant cover drawn by Grace and fellow artist Sarah Stern, according to Liegl.

Brave New World Comics’ exclusive variant cover can be bought in-store both before and during the event for $15 and is set to include a complimentary numbered “mini print” of the cover.

While the purchase of the variant is required to get in line for the signing, both Parrot and Grace are set to sign any comics that they have worked on, according to officials.

The event is set to last from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. The variant cover can also be bought online here.

Then, on Dec. 21, Brave New World Comics is set to host their third-annual TMNT Day. This year, the shop is set to celebrate the release of issue No. 100 of “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” with an in-store signing with artist David Baron.

The signing is set to also highlight a store-exclusive variant cover that features an original, never-before-published black and white piece by Ninja Turtles Co-Creator Kevin Eastman, along with help from Baron, according to Liegl.

The store-exclusive variant is $20, and includes a complimentary signed and numbered “mini print” of the cover. While purchase of the cover is required to get in line for the signing, Baron is set to sign any book brought to him, according to officials.

Baron is also set to provide $10 head sketches of the Ninja Turtles during the event.

Additionally, Baron is set to offer 25 pre-order commissions for the event at various price points. More details for those commissions can be found here.

The event is scheduled to last from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. The variant cover can also be bought online here.
