Resident’s have been invited to join with one another on the new rooftop of the Old Town Newhall parking structure for Bridge to Home’s “All the Stars are Closer” fundraiser.
The event is set to feature for a night of scintillating wines, tempting appetizers, craft brews, steaming hot soup, decadent desserts and so much more.
This year’s fundraiser for Bridge to Home comes at a time when the local non-profit is in the process of making the transition to a permanent, year-round homeless shelter a reality.
“We have two primary goals for the Soup of the Soul event. Our first goal is to open year round in early 2019 and stay open 24-7 to help those who come to us. Secondly, we would like to build a permanent facility with more space for our residents,” said Peggy Edwards, president of board of directors for Bridge to Home.
Bridge to Home officials are encouraging the Santa Clarita Valley community to come out and help support them in their goal.
“Community support is extremely important. We have hundreds of volunteers and the dinners are provided by church groups, community groups and family groups. The community support saves us several hundred thousands of dollars a year,” said Edwards.
“The view is going to be incredible up there. We’re going to be able to do things that we’ve never been able to do before” said Edwards.
As the stars come out overhead attendees, will dine, experience live entertainment, participate in a auction, and learn about the mission of Bridge to Home and how to support them in their efforts to aid Santa Clarita’s homeless population.
Restaurants that plan to take part in this event include local favorites Stone Fire, Wolf Creek, Salt Creek, Egg Plantation, Olive Terrace, Fishtail and Nothing Bundt Cakes, among others.
“It’s important to support Bridge to Home because addressing homelessness is a responsibility of the community,” said Edwards. “We can end homelessness. We just have to work together in a coordinated way.”
This year’s event will take place on Saturday, October 13, at 6 p.m.
Individual tickets are $100 and sponsorships are still available. Visit their website to buy tickets and learn more about Bridge to Home.
