With the partnership, the organization will be part of a nationwide celebration of the international exchanges and an opportunity to raise awareness of the J-1 Exchange Visitor Program.

The exchange visitors, sponsored by WWCE, are part of a group of University students from China, India, Nigeria, Philippines, Spain, Thailand and Turkey, who are in the Santa Clarita Valley on summer break to experience American culture while working with the host employer, Six Flags Magic Mountain.

WWCE works to build partnerships, promote mutual understanding, and develop relationships that will last through generations as these foreign nationals move into leadership roles in a broad range of occupational fields in their own countries, according to officials.

The event is set to bring exchange visitors and the community together for a day of “Eat, Play, Give” under the motto: “WWCE – We Work with Communities Everywhere!”

The event is expected to take place at 12 p.m. on Aug. 6 at Newhall Park.

Activities for the day include lunch in the park, featuring samples of traditional food and dessert made by the exchange visitors representing their home country, followed by games like soccer, basketball, frisbee and hula hoops, according to officials.

During this time, the exchange visitors will distribute backpacks, which are purchased with their own money, stuffed with school supplies for 50 youth age 7-17, selected by the Boys & Girls Club.

As a designated sponsor of the J-1 Exchange Visitor Program, WWCE was founded in 2000 with the main objective to encourage and promote programs that will prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to experience the country, according to officials.

“Other cities across the United States will hold similar “Eat, Play, Give” events, providing exchange visitors and their hosts an opportunity to enjoy culturally diverse cuisine, share cultural diversity and customs and give back to their local communities,” officials said.
