Forever 21 In Valencia To Close Amid Nationwide Store Shutdowns, Bankruptcy Concerns

Forever 21 at the Valencia Town Center is set to close, according to an anonymous store manager.

The Valencia location, which employs around 20 staff members, is one of many Forever 21 stores expected to close, according to the manager.

While an exact closing date has not been provided, the store manager confirmed to KHTS Radio, that employees were notified of the impending shutdown approximately two weeks ago.

“Corporate gives very little information and only tells us things like this the night before it happens,” the manager said.

The closure comes as Forever 21 prepares for a potential second bankruptcy.

The retailer plans to shut down nearly 200 stores as it looks for a buyer. The company may have to liquidate its entire chain of approximately 350 stores if no qualified buyer emerges, according to Bloomberg.

Some locations, including Fresno, Bakersfield, and Palm Desert, have already begun closing stores.

Financial difficulties have persisted despite previous efforts to revitalize the brand, including a 2023 partnership with Shein.

Forever 21 has not publicly announced a full closure, but the Valencia manager indicated that all locations may be affected.

The company previously filed for bankruptcy in 2019 before being acquired by a group of investors.

It remains unclear when the Valencia location will officially close or if employees will be offered transfers or severance packages.

KHTS reached out to Forever 21‘s corporate office for a statement, but we have yet to hear back.
