Get Ready To Giddy-Up, Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival Returns This Spring

The Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival is back in the saddle this April, returning to Old Town Newhall after a three-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The 27th Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival is set to take place with a new urban venue on Main Street in Old Town Newhall on Saturday, April 22 and Sunday, April 23, according to event organizers.

The 2023 Cowboy Festival is free, and is set to feature favourite performers from previous festivals and new musicians presenting country western, folk and bluegrass music across three stages on Main Street.

Performances are also set to be held at the Canyon Theatre Guild and the Newhall Family Theatre for the Performing Arts in Newhall.

Attendees are able to purchase food and beverages at the festival and can shop from vendors offering unique Western apparel, crafts and more.

For vendors who are interested in being a part of the Cowboy Festival applications are being accepted from now until Feb. 20.

Prospective vendors can learn more about the event by going to the  Cowboy Festival’s website.

Leading up to the Cowboy Festival, a Wild Wild West Senses Block Party is scheduled for Thursday, April 20 from 7 to 10 p.m. on Main Street with live music and themed activities, an on-street bar and more.

Friday, April 21, the City of Santa Clarita is expected to present its 2023 honoree on the Walk of Western Stars by immortalizing their names in bronze and terrazzo saddle tiles, stamped into the streets of Old Town Newhall.
