The Santa Clarita Valley chapter of Junior Chamber International (JCI), known as “The Jaycees,” has a number of events coming up for local young professionals, officials said Wednesday.
JCI Santa Clarita is set to host a variety of events throughout the month of November that young professionals in the Santa Clarita Valley can take advantage of, according to officials.
First, Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce CEO John Muesella is set to speak as part of JCI Santa Clarita’s “Chat and Chill” series.
“Young professionals will hear his inspiring story of how he started his successful public affairs company, got involved with the SCV Chamber and used his life experiences to help put the chamber on a course for success,” reads a statement from JCI.
The event is scheduled to take place on Thursday, Nov. 14 at Margarita’s Mexican Grill starting at 6 p.m. Afterwards, JCI members can stay to network and discuss future projects and events, according to officials.
On the following Saturday, Nov. 16, the organization is set to host their first-ever “Meet The Jaycees Open Day,” which gives people who may be interested in joining JCI Santa Clarita an opportunity to speak to active members over breakfast.
“Whether you’ve heard of JCI Santa Clarita (the Jaycees) or not this open day is for you,” the statement reads. “We’re looking for young active citizens 18-40 to get involved.”
The Open Day is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Holiday Inn Express, located at 27513 Wayne Mills Place in Valencia, according to officials.
Later that afternoon, JCI Santa Clarita is set to host their award-winning JCI Impact Training at the Holiday Inn Express.
“This three-hour training is for anyone wishing to create new projects to help create positive change,” the statement reads. “Learn how to identify the root causes of issues to create sustainable projects and create real impact and positive change in your community.”
The training is set to be free for members and $15 for non-members.
The finals event scheduled for JCI Santa Clarita in November is their first-ever “Friendsgiving Social” on Nov. 21, which is also set to benefit their Santa’s Helpers Appeal.
“Come along for great drink specials and food,” the statement reads. “Come and hang out with the Jaycees and get in the festive spirit. Wear your Christmas outfit (or) holiday sweater.”
