The Los Angeles Dodgers visited Saugus High School and the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station on Friday to honor first responders.
Members of the Dodgers met with Saugus students in a campus rally as part of the 17th annual community service week “Dodger Love L.A. Community Service Tour.”
The week is focused on showing gratitude to public servants, first responders, law enforcement and military, according to Dodgers officials.

The team’s visit to Saugus High had a special emphasis on honoring the strength and resolve shown by the students and faculty in the aftermath of the tragic shooting last fall, according to Dodgers community relations coordinator Karla Maynez.
“I know this has been an incredibly tough year for all of you,” Maynez said. “I want to take a minute to commend this entire student body and staff for the way this community came together. Our players and the entire Dodgers family are proud to call Saugus home. All of you guys are our family.”
During the rally at Saugus, the Dodgers played games with the students, including pop music trivia, a towel slide race across the gym, and others.
