David Burns, 63, from Castaic, has been identified as the man that was found dead last Thursday, said Sarah Ardalani, spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.

At 6:25 p.m. Thursday, first responders received reports of a person unresponsive in a ditch near the corner of Parker and The Old Roads in Castaic, Lt. Brandon Barclay with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station said at the time of the initial report.

Burns was found dead with an empty bottle of alcohol next to him, Barclay said at the time.
