The City of Santa Clarita is set to host the Martin Luther King Jr. Unity walk in Central Park later this month.
The event is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 17, at Central Park beginning at 9 a.m. with the theme of “Together We Are Stronger,” according to City officials.
“The Unity Walk will begin with a brief speaking program at the Central Park flagpole, followed by a quarter-mile walk through Central Park,” event organizers said.
The program is expected to feature several guest speakers who are set to focus on celebrating the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
The event is intended to commemorate Dr. King’s core values — faith, education, nonviolence, love, leadership, community and hope, according to officials.
The Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Unity Walk is coordinated in collaboration with the City of Santa Clarita Human Relations Roundtable. The event is free and open to the public, with no advanced registration required, according to event organizers.
