Needham Ranch representatives are scheduled to pitch a continuation of their phase two development plan to the Santa Clarita City Council Tuesday evening to begin construction on additional lots.
Overlooking the 14 Freeway off of the 23000 block of Sierra Highway, Needham Ranch Business Park is currently a 250-acre property planned to accommodate approximately 1.9 million square feet of industrial space once fully completed.
The center at Needham Ranch raised the walls of Building 10 in July, kicking off part of the construction for phase two of the Needham Ranch Business Park, but organizers are still waiting on the final subdivision map approval.
The map is a subdivision including 6 open space lots, 10 industrial and commercial lots and one lot to be offered to the City of Santa Clarita in fee simple for open space, according to the proposal.

The proposal intends to create hundreds of thousands of additional square footage for prospective businesses, including office space, warehousing and loading space, according to organizers.
During the same meeting, Santa Clarita City council members are scheduled to vote on adding a plaque to the Veterans Historical Plaza to honor local veterans advocate Bill Reynolds who died in January, according to a request by the Santa Clarita Valley Veterans Memorial Organization.
“Bill loved our veterans because he understood what it meant to truly serve, and he understood what it meant to truly sacrifice. In his own words, he said, ‘America was founded on the courage to fight for freedom, and that’s what the veteran community does. They take pride in that, there’s no better family than the veteran community,” said Congressman Mike Garcia during Reynold’s memorial ceremony in February. “Bill was a steward of those who protected our nation, a warrior with a big heart, and a sheepdog with a big bark and an even bigger fight.”

After being drafted and serving in the U.S. Army in Vietnam, Reynolds held a 28-year career at Lockheed’s Skunkworks Company, before retiring and committing himself to the service for local veterans’ issues.
Reynolds had served as KHTS Radio’s Director of Veterans Affairs since June 2019, providing articles and interviews with local veterans to help preserve their histories.
“Bill Reynolds was a class act, he was so passionate about veterans and I loved hearing his own stories about serving in the military,” said KHTS Co-Owner Carl Goldman in a previous KHTS article. “He cared so much about Santa Clarita and is definitely an asset our community had that will be sorely, sorely missed.”
