A Santa Clarita motorcycle deputy was released from the hospital Tuesday afternoon after being struck by a big rig last month.
Santa Clarita Sheriff Station personnel gathered at the Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital Tuesday to celebrate the release of Chad Perrigo, a motorcycle deputy who was struck by a big rig last month.
Last month one of our motor units was involved in an on duty traffic collision resulting in significant injuries. “We are grateful for everyone’s prayers, messages, and well wishes,” reads a statement from the SCV Sheriff Station. “Please continue to keep him in your thoughts during his road to recovery.”
Perrigo was released Tuesday after sustaining “serious injuries” due to the crash on April 28, according to the Perrigo Family’s GoFundMe.

“Chad has been a member of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department for nine years, with the past two years spent as a motor deputy at Santa Clarita Valley Station,” read a description on the GoFundMe page. “He is not only a beloved member of the station’s motor team, but also a devoted husband and father to three young boys.”
The Perrigo family’s GoFundMe has raised over $43,000 of their $75,000 goal as of Perrigo’s release on Tuesday.
