L.A. County Officials Report No New Healthcare Worker Coronavirus Deaths In Three Weeks

On Tuesday, the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health (Public Health) marked the third week without a healthcare worker death due to COVID-19.

In a coronavirus update Tuesday, Public Health announced there had been no new deaths among healthcare workers in Los Angeles County, who began receiving vaccinations in December 2020, in three weeks.

Public Health also encouraged those living and working in Los Angeles County to get vaccinated in order to help slow the spread of the virus.

“The most powerful tool to maintain our recovery progress is the vaccine and the most important work in front of us is to make it easier for residents to get vaccinated,” said Director of Public Health Dr. Barbara Ferrer. “With vaccination eligibility set to expand later this week to include adolescents between 12-15 years of age, there will be more opportunities to get vaccines into more arms to save lives and to build the County’s protection against COVID-19. Getting vaccinated is the way we end this pandemic.”
