Santa Clarita Salvation Army Red Kettle Pops Up At Stevenson Ranch Walmart To Raise Money For The Holidays

You know the holiday season has arrived when you hear the familiar ring of a bell beside a Salvation Army red kettle. This year, the iconic kettles have returned to Santa Clarita, bringing not only holiday cheer but also a call to support neighbors in need.

The Salvation Army is an evangelical Christian organization that serves communities through faith-based compassion and outreach. Its mission is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ while meeting human needs through a wide range of charitable services.

The Red Kettle donation booths are set up for the sole reason to raise money from the public and use it to donate funds to those struggling to get by this holiday season. Whether they need food, shelter, or to provide gifts to children, the Salvation Army ensures that they get to enjoy the holidays without stress and worry.

This year one red kettle was set up in Stevenson Ranch outside of the Walmart entrance. The rotary worker, Tyrell Edwards, was joyfully ringing his bell and wishing patrons a happy holiday.

Edwards spoke about how he got into becoming a rotary for the Salvation Army.

“Through the years, I’ve walked past stores and I’ve seen people out here doing the salvation bucket and I just realized how important it is that we are here. And we give back and give people an opportunity to get back to humanity.”
