To commemorate the first wave of zero-emission vehicles rolling out this winter, Santa Clarita Transit collaborated with Santa Clarita Arts to produce new TAP cards for residents.

Santa Clarita Transit and Santa Clarita Arts aimed to create buzz for the zero-emission vehicles via commemorative TAP cards through their Zero-Emission TAP Card Art Contest.

Out of 84 submissions, Joey Camins was ultimately announced as the winner of the Zero-Emission Tap Card Art Contest.

Camins’ hand-drawn design depicts a Santa Clarita Transit vehicle traveling through a lush landscape, and it stood out to the judges who oversaw the contest.

Camins’ winning design is scheduled to appear on 1,000 limited-edition commemorative TAP cards, produced in partnership with the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Authority (Metro).

Santa Clarita residents should expect cards featuring Camins’ design to be distributed for free at select Santa Clarita Transit-related events throughout the coming year.

The L.A. County Metropolitan Transportation Authority administers both the TAP System and the Commemorative TAP Card Program.
