The Santa Clarita Water Agency (SCV Water) is anticipated to notify customers of a proposal to change water service rates in an upcoming public hearing.
SCV Water regularly evaluates the cost of providing service to ensure expenses balance with revenue, allowing it to adequately address system operations, maintenance, updates, meet government regulations, and maintain financial stability, according to officials.
SCV Water recently released its Proposition 218 notice, as mandated by California Constitution Article XIII D. This notice informs property owners or customers of record about proposed changes to property-related fees, such as water service.
“Customers who may be impacted by these changes are receiving the notice and are encouraged to attend the workshops to learn more about the proposed rate changes and ask questions,” said Rochelle Patterson, SCV Water Chief Financial and Administrative Officer.
