Valencia, Saugus Football Game Cancelled By L.A. Public Health Due To COVID-19 Outbreak

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, (Public Health), has canceled Friday nights’ football game between Valencia and Saugus High Schools due to a COVID-19 outbreak.

The decision to cancel the game came after three additional students on the Valencia High School campus were confirmed to have COVID-19, said Dave Caldwell, spokesperson for the Hart District.

Due to the outbreak at the school, Public Health knows students have been exposed to COVID, and do not want to bring a large crowd together with the risk of spreading the virus further, according to officials.

Because of Valencia High School players have been barred by Public Health from playing during the game, they are considered to have forfeited to Saugus High School.

Saugus’s football team will therefore win Friday’s game 5-0, marking them as undefeated Foothill League champions.

The Dr. Paul Priesz stadium at Valencia High School has also been forced to close, according to Caldwell.

As a result of the closure of the Valencia Stadium, the West Ranch vs. Hart game is scheduled to be moved to the College of the Canyons Football stadium, remaining a West Ranch home game.

This comes on the heels of an outbreak of COVID-19 cases at Valencia High School, with a majority of the cases being amongst the cheerleaders.

  1. Pride goeth before the fall, get vaccinated. Enough is enough.

    • Ireland has very close to 100% vaccination. They also currently have DOUBLE the new infections (on a per capita basis) of the US. Proving once and for all that even if everyone gets vaccinated that won’t help anything. And before you say it, Irelands per capita death rate right now is almost triple the US. Wake up and smell the data, the vaccine is worthless. Enough is enough of people like you pushing it on everyone else.

    • Do your homework! Stop drinking the koolaid!

    • The vaccine does not stop you from getting COVID. People can also pass it on that are vaccinated. The only thing it does is to supposedly stop you from getting it that bad. They also in Israel said that natural immunity is better and a stronger immunity. Not that the vaccine is bad for some people it is very good but fully vaccinated people that are immune compromised that get Covid are dying. The CDC said it doesn’t work on immune compromised. So people need to stop insisting you get vaccinated. The vaccine is not the be all end all. Read the article it says it in the article. I’m not telling you what to believe or what to think. I’m just trying to make a point to stop bullying people to do it. If your vaccinated it should not matter if anyone else is, you are protected correct? https://www.audacy.com/1010wins/news/national/colin-powell-dies-at-84-from-covid-complications

  2. Ugh. Everyone is so exhausting on both sides. Just stop it and chill out.

  3. More moronic Trumpers who btw is vaccinated – follow your god morons!

  4. nearly 100% vaccination rate!!… You dont lie very well.. You need to take lessons from me.

  5. The vaccine isnt ‘worthless’ as it is very effective at preventing hospitalization and death. Few have died after having been fully vaccinated but tens of thousands have avoided hospitalization after breakthrough infections.

But, people will still get Covid and get sick like they had the flu. That alone should NOT be reason to continue with these massive mandates.

  6. Stop worrying, if your businesses go Bankrupt, Xiden/Newsom/Garshity have plenty of taxpayer $$$$ for you!

  7. Over 20 countries have taken their health agencies to court. The health agencies are given 2-3 weeks to prove the existence of Cov-19. All 20 countries, their health agencies couldn’t prove it. For them to tell the truth, they will need to admit the virus is man made which makes it a bio-weapon.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
