Santa Clarita Graduates Honored At Sprouts Farmers Market

Six Santa Clarita graduates from various schools were honored with a small graduation ceremony at Sprouts Farmers Market in Valencia.

Six Santa Clarita graduates were given a graduation ceremony Thursday at Sprouts in Valencia after their official school ceremonies were cancelled.

“I had a vision that these kids needed to have as much as a real graduation as possible,” said Sprouts manager Eric Sustin. “They got to march in to ‘Pomp and Circumstance,’ and they got a certificate.”

All of the graduates are employees at the location from different schools, three of which are high school graduates and three of which are college graduates.

Their names were read as they walked across the stage erected in the Valencia Sprouts location. Each graduate was given a certificate that read “Sprouts Graduate.”

“In recognition of completing their education we put their name and the date on it,” Sustin added. “But we did call them Sprouts Grads, just so that they can have something.”

Sustin aimed to give his employees and coworkers the experience of walking across a stage in a graduation, which was especially important for the three high schoolers in the group, who had not had the experience before.

The Sprouts location in Valencia is still open with normal operating hours, and is following guidelines to keep their employees and patrons safe in order to help the community, according to Sustin.
