100 MPH 14 Freeway Pursuit Suspect In Custody After Crashing In To Wall

A 14 Freeway pursuit suspect who reached over 100 miles per hour was taken into custody Thursday morning after crashing into a wall in the San Fernando Valley, officials said.

On Wednesday around 11:55 p.m., a grey Hyundai Santa Fe SUV was observed traveling at a high rate of speed on the southbound 14 Freeway at Via Princessa, said Officer Josh Greengard, spokesperson for the California Highway Patrol Newhall Area Office.

“The CHP officer attempted to make an enforcement stop on the vehicle,” Greengard said.

However, the vehicle failed to stop and continued south on the 14 Freeway, and reached speeds exceeding 100 mph, according to Greengard.

“The speeding SUV transitioned to the southbound I-405 driving with no lights on in a further attempt to not be seen,” Greengard said.

The vehicle exited at the 405 Freeway at Sepulveda Boulevard and crashed into a concrete wall, according to Greengard.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics were call to the scene due to the crash ending to check for injuries, according to officials on scene.

Christopher Watkins, from Los Angeles, was taken into custody a few minutes after midnight and charged with felony evading, Greengard said.

  1. That’s what happens when you have 8 drinks at Bergie’s and then drive home…..

  2. You’re such a loser….Suicide is your best solution! ?

  3. Arn is probably short for Arnold (like Arnold the pig from Green Acres sitcom) so with a name like that, he probably had an overbearing Mom, that made him sour & mean and only dreams of $$$$ and donates to Liberals mainly for a tax write off

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
