Attempted Carjacking Suspect Arrested, Allegedly Jumped Into Woman’s Car In Castaic, Told Her To Keep Driving

Santa Clarita deputies arrested a suspected carjacker Friday after the man allegedly forced his way into a woman’s car and told her to keep driving.

Around 12:30 p.m., a man entered a vehicle on Quincy Street in Castaic and demanded the woman at the wheel keep driving, according to Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station officials.

The victim was able to get the carjacker out of the vehicle before calling 911, according to officials.

Deputies found the suspect near the corner of the Old Road and Hasley Canyon Road, Lt. Leo Bauer of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station said. 

“He was positively identified,” Bauer said. The suspect was arrested and transported to the station’s jail.

The carjacker was described as a white male, 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing around 180 lbs.
