Deputies arrested a man for attempted murder in Castaic Sunday after he allegedly made threats and then caused his significant other’s vehicle to crash.

Olgats Saintjean, 31, of Los Angeles, reportedly got into an argument with his partner while he was a passenger in the victim’s vehicle, according to Shirley Miller, a spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“The victim was driving a vehicle in the Castaic area, with the suspect as a passenger,” Miller said. “The suspect allegedly made the statement to the victim that he ‘was going to kill them both,’ and then grabbed the steering wheel, causing the vehicle to crash into a hillside.”

The vehicle crashed on Lake Hughes Road near Warm Springs Road around 2:45 p.m.

Although no injuries were reported, detectives continue to actively investigate the incident, Miller said.

Saintjean was arrested and booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, and is being charged with attempted murder. Bail has been set at $2 million, according to officials.
