Canyon Country Man Arrested After Threatening Person With Firearm

A Canyon Country man was arrested Monday night after allegedly following another person and pointing a gun at him, officials said.

At around 9:30 p.m. Monday, deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station received reports of an assault with a deadly weapon on the 18300 block of Jakes Way in Canyon Country, according to officials.

The male adult victim was reportedly going home to “collect satellite equipment,” at the time, according to Shirley Miller, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“The suspect allegedly followed the victim and got in front of the victim’s vehicle, retrieved a firearm from his waistband, and pointed it at the victim,” Miller said.

Deputies proceeded to arrest the suspect, 39-year-old Duniesky Rodriguez, on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, according to Miller.

Rodriguez was transported to and booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station jail, where bail was set at $50,000.
