A conductor was allegedly threatened with a knife on a Metrolink train headed to Canyon Country Friday afternoon, officials said.
The incident was first reported at about 3 p.m. Friday as an assault with a deadly weapon on a train near the Via Princessa Station, according to Lt. Sahile the watch commander for Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Transit Services Bureau.
“An occupant in a Metrolink train got into a verbal altercation with Metrolink personnel and brandished a knife,” Sahile said.
The Metrolink train was traveling south from the Vincent Grade / Acton Station, according to Sheriff’s officials.
After the incident, the conductor reportedly locked the suspect in a compartment while the train was en route to the Via Princessa Station, Sheriff’s officials said.
The train stopped in Canyon Country near the Via Princessa Station where law enforcement took the suspect into custody, according to deputies on scene.
No injuries were reported in the incident, according to officials.
