A Santa Clarita man who pled not guilty to allegations of posing as a rideshare driver and raping seven women returned to court last Friday.

Santa Clarita resident Nicolas Morales appeared in court this Friday for a pretrial conference, having been accused of over two dozen felony charges, including raping seven women and posing as a rideshare driver.

Morales was charged with 27 felony counts for allegedly assaulting seven women in different areas around Los Angeles County, including Alhambra, Beverly Hills, and West Hollywood, according to Ricardo Santiago, spokesperson for the District Attorney’s Office.

The charges attributed to Morales include the following: nine counts of forcible oral copulation, six counts of rape, five counts of sodomy by use of force, four counts of sexual penetration by a foreign object and one count each of assault with intent to commit a felony, attempted sodomy by use of force and attempted kidnapping to commit another crime.

The D.A.’s office reported the felony complaint also includes several victims and knife allegations.

According to prosecutors, Morales posed as a rideshare driver from October 2016 to January 2018.

If convicted as charged, Morales could potentially face a maximum sentence of 300 years to life in state prison and lifetime sex offender registration.

The case has been investigated by the Alhambra and Los Angeles Police Departments and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Morales is scheduled to return to court on April 1, 2021 for a pre-trial hearing.
