Deputies have launched an investigation after a dead body was found in a wash in Valencia Saturday night.
Around 7:30 p.m. Saturday, deputies responded to the 27000 block of McBean Parkway in Valencia regarding a dead body found in the riverbed, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
“A male adult, approximately 50 years old, was reportedly found deceased in the riverbed,” Arriaga said.
Deputies arrived on scene alongside the SCV Search and Rescue team and paramedics with the Los Angeles County Fire Department who pronounced the man, suspected to be a transient, deceased at 7:46 p.m.
Detectives with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Bureau were notified of the dead body found, however, did not respond.
Investigators with the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office are investigating the cause of death.
