No arrests have been made after a man allegedly threw a knife at deputies and barricaded himself in a home Tuesday afternoon in Canyon Country.
Around 2:20 p.m. Tuesday, deputies responded to the 18500 block of Soledad Canyon Road in Canyon Country for a family disturbance, said Shirley Miller, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
The caller stated that her adult son was throwing items within the home,” Miller said. “The male suspect, 30s, allegedly came outside and threw a knife at the responding deputies and then went back inside, barricading himself.”
Deputies established a containment and made multiple call-outs for the suspect to surrender to law enforcement, according to officials.
“After approximately two hours, deputies disengaged,” Miller said.
It was unclear why deputies disengaged from the barricaded suspect.
No arrests have been made, and the incident remains under active investigation by Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station detectives.
