Deputy-Involved Fight Blocks Railroad Traffic

A deputy-involved fight impacted traffic on Railroad Avenue in Newhall Wednesday.

Around 3:05 p.m. Wednesday, deputies made contact with an individual in an illegally parked vehicle on Railroad Avenue near Oak Ridge Drive in Newhall, according to Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

When a deputy was detaining the driver, a fight broke out, according to Arriaga.

“A short period later he was able to detain the suspect without further incident,” Arriaga said. “He is being arrested for assault on a peace officer.”

No major injuries were reported, according to officials.

Deputies briefly closed two northbound lanes of Railroad Avenue while they searched the suspect’s vehicle and investigated the scene, according to officials on scene.

  1. I could think of a few better headlines than the one you choose! It makes it sound like the deputy was the troublemaker. Deputies and police officers have enough trouble and headlines like this just add to their situation!

  2. Was the car towed away?

  3. This guy has been a trouble maker in the neighborhood for a year now. Glad SCV Sheriff’s caught up to him.

  4. And some think that therapist should handle the homeless.

  5. KMS, What do you suggest to help the homeless? Have you reached out to lend a helping hand or donated or volunteered at any local shelter? We are all gods children and must help each other in times of need. We all should pray for these unfortunate individuals.

  6. Pastor Jeff, Yes we all need to pray for them & take compassionate Human action like building more mental & jail institutions for these lost creatures. The Liberals pseudo compassion is not working when driven by Demonic condoning that not only prolongs the suffering of Vagrants, but entire communities of decent humans.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
